Osteopathy Treats Repetitive Strain
TOsteopathy Treats Repetitive Strain Injuries are the result of the recurring or overuse of muscles after excessive and repeated movements of certain muscles, for example in those associated with the overuse of keyboards, computers and cellphones. The injury occurs when groups of muscles are overused without preconditioning causing the tendons and periosteum to become inflamed. The muscle fibres become enlarged leading to the compression of arteries and nerves and a reduction in blood flow that is experiences as a deep, muscular ache.
Treatment
An osteopath will first determine the cause of the injury and treat the problem holistically. A range of techniques will be applied to loosen muscles, free joints and reduce the inflammation.
