The importance of Health awareness education

“The doctor of the future will give no medication, but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, diet and in the cause and prevention of disease. ”― Thomas A. Edison

Today, more than ever before, patients have the ability to take control of their health care. Many people are ignorant about health issues and as a result this may predispose them to falling sick. There are many health problems that could be easily avoided if we paid a bit more attention to our health education. Things like poor posture, back pain, headaches, sports injuries due to poor movement and exercise choices, adverse effects of drugs, chemicals and medications, weight gain due to bad eating habits, and even aching joints could be prevented if we were mindful of potential pitfalls to our health from an early age.Every individual should make well-informed, educated decisions when it comes to the health of themselves and their children. Patient empowerment starts with information and education. This includes making smart decisions about treatment in collaboration with trusted healthcare professionals who may help them understand their condition and its effect on their body. Always check ingredients that you may be consuming through food, injection, supplementation or medication so that they may not conflict with your individual physiology. This is standard practice.

Decide fully informed choices. More health care information is available online than ever before – assuming you know where to find credible sources. There is ever increasing information “out there” so use your common sense. Finding unbiased information on the issue can be extremely overwhelming; part of the role of a healthcare practitioner is to supply you with the tools necessary to make informed decisions on health for you and your family. Remember fear inhibits immune function and the ability for rational thought.

Today it has become a great challenge for people to take care of themselves well. It appears that more and more people are suffering from various diseases which wouldn’t have happened if people had taken well care of themselves. With little discipline and practice of good habits people could easily stay healthy throughout their lives provided they are ready to stay fit and be firm in the choice of consuming sensibly. It’s far better to take preventative measures than to have to try and reverse medical conditions or treat illnesses when you could have stopped them from happening in the first place.

It is always wise to make thoughtful decisions on our health. Always make decisions as close as possible to “As nature intended”. So that applies to all aspects of our health which includes posture, movement, exercise, nutrition chemicals and breathing.” Look deep into Nature and you will understand everything better.” The further we move away from nature the unhealthier we are likely to be. It is often only when our health begins to suffer and our body starts to send out alarm signals forcing us to slow down, that we truly begin to focus on ourselves. When making significant health decisions it is important to first weigh up risks versus benefits with surgical procedures, taking drugs etc and look at success rates, potential adverse effects to help determine if this procedure is right for you. Always discuss with your G.P, doctor and if necessary get a second opinion.
